| « Cool Cars and Cooler Jews | BACK TO WORK PEASANT! - PART1 » |
Quick side note. I nearly crapped myself yesterday. I stopped in at the Shell Petrol Station to throw in some petrol. As always i've ridden on fumes to the petrol station. So I ask for my usual R250. This usually get me past halfway on the indicator and lasts up to two weeks. So the guy starts puts the petrol in and after he returns the key and I turn on the ignition, my tank shows its FULL!
WOW!
FULL!
All the time I have had the car, I've never filled it up. Now with R250 I did it by accident. Imagine my shock AND joy to find this. Petrol is like R5.70 now. Half of what it was a few months back. Amazing.
Anyway, back to the retelling of my holiday.
So we finished up in Hermanus. Did I mention Fabio's, and it's fucking ridiculous prices. The food is not even that good. Honestly, stick to Primi Piatti ( http://www.primi-world.com/primi.htm ), slightly better prices and much better food. I recommend the Bomb Pizza or Salmone Pasta. They are fucking amazing.
So we head back home. Once again i'm loving the trip back, slowly making my way this time round. As we leave Hermanus in the MG (check out the TF here: http://mg-uk.co.uk/) I get a VW Golf driver parking on my tail. As is your typical Golf driver, the guy thinks his car is the meanest machine on four wheels. It was a 1.8CTI you see. The fastest of the mk1 Gold generation in SA. And he saw a soft top little sports car, and thought he would give me a run for my money. As a Golf driver, he had a reputation to uphold, and his girlfried was next to him. The challenge was on.
In front of me were a few more cars, and it was a single lane with constant on-coming traffic so over taking was not possible. The guy just kept on my ass.
"Fine" I thought.
We came onto the N2 into a double lane and that's when I hammered the pedal. The Simota roared, and the MG kicked forward. My wife started muttering something about being careful. It was uphill, and the TF powered out under the Golf and we flew past the cars that were previously in front of me. As we hit the first bend, I held back on the accelerator and took a long left. Once again I applied the power as the road straightened. I weaved between a few cars and cleared them just as the two lanes fused. The Golf was nowhere in sight. I continued to climb at a pace, and as I came over the highest point and started to descend I tapped off once again. 5 minutes later the Golf arrived again, as determined as ever. I had had my fun, and let him pass. I think he know's he needs a bit more to fuck with an MG next time.
Shadow had conquered.
Crushed his enemies into the dirt.
Grrrr...
So the rest of the way home was uneventful. We stopped in at Somerset Shopping Centre and Bought a gift for my wife's long time school buddy. We got home had showers and were out again to have supper in Claremont for said friends birthday party. The location was Doppio Zero, and I opted for a salad. All the other folks went for pizza. Can't blame em. They're pretty good.
Moving along.
Wow. Is this boring? Let me know if it is. Drop me a comment.
So. Im' gonna cut this story short.
We went home. slept. I went to work on that Friday. Straight after, we packed up again and headed for Hollandse...whatever.
We spent the weekend there with my parents and my brother and a family friend.
It was fun. I ate a lot. Mostly meat. Cool. Played some bad guitar. swam some more. Worked on the Tan. Ate more meat.
I seldom eat meat.
Kosher is expensive after all. But it's cool, cause my parents were buying!
So that's pretty much it.
Was a good few days off.
And I am almost over my inner ear infection thing. Seemed to have spread a bit, cause my throat was sore for a few days, and even now I'm feeling a bit underpowered.
Anyway. Heading home.
Have a great weekend Fans.
See ya soon.
