Birthdays are still cool

I turned 29.
29.
Fuck me, and I don't even have a clue how to get that Aston Martin yet.

The only good thing about getting a year older is the quality of gifts that seem to be improving as I get closer to possible erectile dysfunction.

This year, I got many awesome gifts.

One was from my lady.
It was a tatoo. Of her name. On my ring finger.
"I am yours" has never been so wholeheartedly proven (In my modest opinion)
Here is a pic of it:

My next gift was from a good friend, and he surprised the shit our of me when he brought it over.
You see, as you may know I recently (this year) finished my first novel. It's still in test reading phase and I am busy with first edits.
Chris, who was my first test reader, has a side business of doing statuetes. So what does he go and do? He slyly asks me to give him a pic of my main hero Darcon, for some lame reason I fail to remember.
A few days after my birthday he appears, carrying a statue of the first protagonist I ever penned.

It was awesome. The level of detail is amazing. It's still unpainted, but it was just an example of the work they did.

Here is a pic of it:

This got us talking.
And a new idea was formed.
I will be releasing my novel as a full-length uncut eBook (Before the print edition).
This will come with an option of purchasing one of four sculptures, based on central characters from the book.
It's going to be awesome, and I hope you will be supporting me in this venture.

My last gift was from my brother.
I am part of a generation that only ever heard of typewriters, and yet so many of the greatest stories ever told were written one slow-ass keystroke at a time on these ancient mechanical menaces.
I suppose no one can call themselves a writer if they don't own a piece of this history.

So he got me a 1930's, Swedish-built Hermes 2000, and lovingly restored the shit out of it.
It's now working and I've already hammered out a couple of lines on it. I plan to use it to write some poetry.

Here it is, bathed in the glory of the dying afternoon sun:

Thanks to all ya'all.
They're beautiful, and I appreciate the thought that went into each one of them.

I'm forever grateful.
Until next year.
Ha.

Capetonification

Meet Tony Conrad. Writer. (He thinks so) Capetonian. In a city of morally-challenged assholes, he just might be the biggest one. At least that's what his lady says. He's trying to change that. And failing... All Material is owned by the writer thereof, Tony Conrad Copyright © 2013
