« Death at Salvatore | The Monday » |
I now realise that sending an early morning blog update is the wrong approach. SO MUCH SHIT CAN HAPPEN IN 8 HOURS, that it totally skews the trend of the day's cool factor.
Where as it started out and bright and chipper, it did not end that way. Deterioration set in faster than Patrick Swayze's cancer.
I don't feel like going into a long tirade of how some customer in JHB bitched about this and that, so I'll leave you with this:
Fridge magnets are cool.
Really cool.
On our way down from Signal Hill, after the destruction of the Twin Athlone Towers, we passed some signs that still showed: "No Stopping on Event Days."
This was referring to the 2010 Football world Cup, in case you were off-planet or hibernating at the time.
I wondered why these were still up, and how they actually managed to replace the old signs that had once stood in their place.
And then I saw it. Looking up at the pole revealed a double layer. They had just stuck the new one on top of the old one. But the new one wasn't steel. It was just a massive fridge magnet. Bright boys.
So I took one.
Actually I took two.
One for me and one for my bud's sister.
I drove home with it plastered to the bonnet of my MG.
And now it's proudly displayed on my fridge.
Thanks Helen Zille.
It looks fucking awesome.
