Homemade Chilli

After a heavy night out celebrating St. Patrick's day (God I drank so much Guinness) I was up early this morning to do some Sand Boarding. It was a first for me, and needless to say, I fell.
A Lot.

So after 3 hours of Pain, Sun and Burn, I decided to reward myself with some good home cooking.

Now, for the longest time, I've wanted to try American Chilli. I've been watching a lot of the Food channel, and it features in some show at least once a week. So I decided to make my own.
I googled for recipe guidelines and prep methods, and then took a trip to the local Spar.

I picked up the following:

Chilli Salad - chop it all up(From the deli section. All pickled chilli - giant green ones and smaller red ones - all hot.)

0.372kg Extra Lean Beef mince
2 medium onions (finely chopped)
3 medium tomatoes (roughly chopped)
2 carrots (Diced)
1 jar of Garlic Man Portuguese Sweet Chilli sauce
1 can of cheap baked beans

The rest I pulled out of cupboards and fridge:

olive oil to coat the pan
1 Giant teaspoon of chopped garlic
1 half-drunk bottle of hansa pillsener
cup of black coffee (three spoons of instant Frisco mother fucker)

I used the following spices. There was no measurement. I just through it in until I thougt it was enough:

Ina Paarman's Garlic and Herb seasoning
Ina Paarman's Cajun spice
half packet of Gihwala's Eastern Gem Eleven in one spice.
4 teaspoons of brown sugar.
Black pepper

That's it. So I through it together with this outline:

1: Heat oil.
2: Cook onions, garlic and meat until brown.
3: Add tomatoes, beer, carrots, coffee and Garlic Man sauce
4: Add spices sugar and peppers.
5: Reduce heat and simmer until it reduced about half.
6: Add beans and simmer for another 10-20 minutes.

And that's it.
I haven't eaten it yet. (It's still going while I'm typing this) but I've been tasting, and it tastes JUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUSSSSSS!!!

I'll let y'all know how it turns out.

For now: Peace.
