When you think you understand a term you think you've gathered more knowledge and become a better person but once you see it in action - living, moving, being, in front of you - that's when your "Aha" moment comes.
Capetonification can be seen in it's most classic form when wandering the streets on a Saturday night amongst the clubs of Cape Town. The dealers on the streets and homeless beggars all merge into one person and become invisible. When you walk into a club the pretentious are all out to play. The games are so visible to the sober, clear thinkers and they ooze around you like a puss trying to infect. The players faces are so easy to read.
They say
"I'm so desperate for attention",
"I'm so alone",
"Please fuck me",
"What am I doing with this idiot?",
"Please can I find a better conversation than this one tonight".
The way they dress disguises to most what they really are and who they want to be. But this term, this word holds them in their place and they are stuck - whether they like it or not. The gyming, healthy eating, better than you stare at you like you are the one out of place.
Meanwhile it's that stuck look that stares back at you if you catch their eye - the "Please help me" kind of look. It's that look that keeps them going the whole night - maybe into the morning but when they get back home and there's no one to pretend to, it's them that lie in their beds at night and feel incomplete.
Capetonification - more than a term. A way of life, a personal choice, an empty place.
And CowGirl69 impresses on her first show … looking forward to what next she has in store for us,” Ay CowGirl69?” ;-)
Totally relate to this! Have you been using my morning stories to help you with this piece?? LOL Brilliant
